Squash Blossoms

Just a quick update on the garden at nearly the six week mark. The summer squash, as you can see above, are blooming quite nicely. Some of the earlier blooms have already turned into 2-inch long baby squash.

The delicate heart-shaped leaves of the green beans have doubled in size as have the plants themselves. No beans yet but lots of tendrils in all directions.

The strawberries have started bearing fruit. They are growing and sending out lots of blossoms on runners. We’ve had three red strawberries so far but I’m definitely not faster than the animals/birds at getting them.

Tiny drops of dew on the strawberry leaves. I have yet to get tired of photographing dew – it is amazing to me that water can just rest like that on the edge of a leaf.
